Violent clashes continued in Turkey today. Supporters of the government took to the streets in Istanbul while riot police are cracking down on anti-government protestors with tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannons.
Turkey’s prime minister is cracking down on protests in Istanbul as it reaches day 12. Police are using tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowds. In Taksim Square, there’s a telecommunications truck so that the people can communicate through social media. There was a call on Twitter for a massive presence in the square, but the tens of thousands who showed up are being pushed back by police.
