Details have emerged in recent days about how attorneys may defend Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl against the charge that he deserted his Army unit in eastern Afghanistan. Speculation is brewing regarding the U.S. Army’s investigation into Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s disappearance from his base in Afghanistan in 2009.
Since Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s release in exchange for five Taliban leaders, members of his unit have publicly stated that he was a deserter. Meanwhile, National Security Advisor Susan Rice said that Bergdahl served with “honor.”
Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s former squad leader Sgt. Evan Buetow this morning told Martha MacCallum that he believes the former prisoner of war was seeking out the Taliban.
