Former President Bill Clinton told Fox News in an interview on Friday he's planning to attend funeral services for the late South African President Nelson Mandela, the man with whom he forged a close bond when they were both in office in the 1990's and took advice from during the impeachment drama.
Civil rights icon Nelson Mandela died today at 95 years old. Reverend Jesse Jackson, who was in South Africa on the day Mandela walked out of prison after 27 years, reflected on his passing this evening. Jackson said, “The choices he made leave us such a great legacy to go forward by hope and healing and not go backward by hurt and hate and hostility.”
An emotional President Obama reflected upon Nelson Mandela’s death moments ago, saying, “We’ve lost one of the most influential, courageous and profoundly good human beings that any of us will share time with on this Earth.”
While he died as a revered figure throughout the world, Nelson Mandela was once condemned by his own government.
