Joe Biden formally launched his bid for the presidency last, bringing an end to months of speculation on whether he would make a third run for the White House.

The former vice president and longtime U.S. senator unsuccessfully ran for the party's nomination in 1988 and 2008, but is now seen by some pundits as the Democrats' best chance to defeat President Trump in 2020.

One of those people is Fox News contributor Robert Wolf, who served on then-President Obama's White House jobs council and now helms the firm 32 Advisors. On Fox Nation's "Liberty File," Judge Andrew Napolitano discussed the Biden campaign's chances with Wolf.

Wolf, who said he still speaks to Obama, described Biden as "well loved" by Americans and said he is currently the favorite at this early juncture of the race for the nomination.

He explained that Biden is the best candidate to defeat Trump in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, all narrowly won by Trump in 2016 over Hillary Clinton.

"That is the map we're going on," said Wolf, predicting Arizona will also be in play for Democrats after Sen. Kyrsten Sinema's win there last fall.

In his campaign launch video, Biden recalled Trump's "very fine people on both sides" remark following a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017.

"In that moment I knew the threat to this nation was unlike any I had ever seen in my lifetime," the Scranton, Pa., native said.
