Radio host Larry Elder blasted Federal Judge Richard Seeborg, an Obama appointee who blocked President Trump from enacting his new "Remain in Mexico" policy for illegal immigrants and asylum seekers.

Seeborg, of San Francisco, granted a request by civil liberties groups to halt the practice while their lawsuit moves forward. He put the decision on hold until Friday to give U.S. officials the chance to appeal to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Elder called Seeborg's decision "absurd" and predicted the Supreme Court will end up hearing the government's appeal.

"Ultimately, Donald Trump will prevail," he said.

The "Remain in Mexico" directive was reportedly a creation of outgoing DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, and Elder added that the Mexican government had even agreed to the policy.

"The onus is on Congress to do something to stop this mess," he said.
