House Judiciary Committee Member John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) ripped top House Democrats Adam Schiff (D-Calif) and Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) for pledging to continue the Trump-Russia investigation despite the fact Robert Mueller closed his comprehensive probe.

"What they want to look at is the same issue of collusion and obstruction that Bob Mueller just dispatched," Ratcliffe, also a House Intel Committee member, said.

Ratcliffe said the summary of Mueller's report, as produced by Attorney General William Barr, was a "complete win" for President Donald Trump.

He said that Schiff, Nadler and Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland collectively have sent the message that "we don't care what Bob Mueller thinks, we're counting on the Southern District of New York['s federal prosecutors] to deliver us from the evil that is Donald Trump."

"Stop wasting our time," Ratcliffe said of the idea.

Ratcliffe applauded Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) for his pithy response to a photo tweeted by Jim Comey that showed the former FBI director surrounded by tall trees with the caption "so many questions."

Graham said there definitely are "many questions" to be asked, and hinted that instead, it should be Comey who testifies on the legitimacy of how the Mueller probe began.

"Where was the probable cause?" Ratcliffe asked.
