Dan Bongino had a message for the mainstream media after Special Counsel Robert Mueller reportedly found no evidence of a Trump-Russia conspiracy: "You got worked."

Attorney General William Barr on Sunday released the "principal conclusions" of Mueller's completed Russia probe in a four-page letter to lawmakers, which stated definitively that Mueller did not establish evidence that Trump's team or any associates of the Trump campaign had conspired with Russia to sway the 2016 election.

On "Fox & Friends" Monday, Bongino said the pundits and Democratic lawmakers who pushed the collusion narrative should be ashamed, particularly Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who Bongino said should "should resign in disgrace."

He said it's time for Democrats and their allies in the media to accept that they have lost this round.

"It was constant, nonstop collusion [coverage] as if this actually happened. Fellas, ladies, take the loss, it’s over. You got worked, there is no evidence. This is a complete hoax, and you bought in on it."

As for calls from some on the left to launch new investigations or to delve into aspects of Mueller's probe, Bongino said it's "complete, utter desperation."

"This isn’t like grasping at straws, this is just complete humiliation on their part," he said. "Claiming the president is not vindicated from obstruction, as if they couldn’t read the same four-page report I did? He was vindicated, completely."
