In her First Thoughts on Fox Nation, Tomi Lahren said Thursday that Democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez should act on her own ideals and donate part of her paycheck to help illegal immigrants or asylum seekers.

Lahren said that, unlike Ocasio-Cortez, President Trump promised to donate his salary to the government or organizations that help his fellow Americans. He recently tweeted a picture of a check he wrote to the Department of Homeland Security for an amount equal to his presidential salary.

"He's willing to put his money where his mouth is, unlike someone we know," Lahren said, adding that Ocasio-Cortez (D-Bronx) wants to tax working people at 70 percent to fund her social policies.

"Why not donate your 'fair share' to the refugees or illegals you claim to love so much, AOC?" she asked.

Lahren said Ocasio-Cortez's congressional salary is hers to allocate, but that she shouldn't be hypocritical in calling for the public to fund expenditures she considers mandatory.

"She made that money by spouting off about crap she clearly doesn't understand, but it's hers," Lahren said.

While running for president in 2016, Trump said he would not accept the $400,000 annual salary.

Since it must be paid out by law, Trump donates the quarterly payments to various departments and agencies, including the departments of Education, Health and Human Services, Transportation and Veterans Affairs, among others.
