In his latest "My Take" commentary Thursday on Fox Nation, Stuart Varney said Boston-area Rep. Ayanna Pressley is "just out to grab votes" with her call to lower the voting age to 16.

Varney said Pressley wants the age threshold reduced in time for the 2020 elections.

He said she is one of the "new radicals" in the Democratic Party in Congress.

Pressley said that the youth are leading the way on gun violence prevention, climate change and the future of work, Varney reported.

Varney said that, in that case, the argument could be made to lower the voting age to 14 or younger.

He said that just because teens are idealistic doesn't mean they should "dictate policy to those who pay taxes now."

"Congresswoman Pressley is just out to grab votes," he said, noting that most young people side with the left-wing of American politics.
