Kaepernick, out of the NFL since 2016, accused NFL owners of colluding with each other to keep him off a team following his decision to kneel for the national anthem.
Defensive back Eric Reid accused NFL owners of the same thing. The former Pro Bowler then signed with the Carolina Panthers last season.
"For the past several months, counsel for Mr. Kaepernick and Mr. Reid have engaged in ongoing dialogue with representatives of the NFL," lawyers Mark Geragos and Ben Meiselas said in a statement. "As a result of those discussions, the parties have decided to resolve the pending grievances."
The lawyers didn’t release what sort of resolution the two sides had come to or the financial parameters. Geragos later said Kaepernick "absolutely" hopes to sign with a team and play in 2019.
Lahren argued NFL owners are not interested in signing a backup quarterback who will cause a distraction. She said his anthem protest was a play for attention from the start "and it worked."
"Kap came out of this thing with way more than he deserves: a settlement check, a Nike endorsement, an anti-police movement, and a legacy of disrespecting the flag and anthem. We, the American people, are the losers," she said in her "First Thoughts," which are released daily on Fox Nation.
"Kaepernick selfishly and single-handedly changed the whole dynamic of football, sports and the unity those events used to provide. He stained the league, the game, and police-community relations.'
