On Fox Nation's "Deep Dive," Lawrence Jones hosted a fascinating, in-depth panel discussion on the controversies facing the Virginia Democratic Party.

Gov. Ralph Northam has been embroiled in a scandal after he admitted to wearing blackface more than 30 years ago. That admission came right after he caused a separate controversy with his comments on late-term abortion.

The state's attorney general, Mark Herring, also recently admitted to wearing blackface at a college party in 1980.

Additionally, Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax is facing an allegation of sexual assault from 2004, which he has adamantly denied.

Despite criticism and calls for them to step down, Northam, Herring and Fairfax have remained at their respective posts.

Jones, a Fox News contributor and editor-in-chief of Campus Reform, said he actually wanted to put Virginia Republicans on the hot seat.

Tomi Lahren on VA Dem Controversies: 'If These Men Were Republicans, They'd Be Ruined'

"How do you lose to someone like this? How do you lose to a party like this? How do you let a guy [who wore] blackface defeat you and paint you as a racist?" Jones said.

Jones, who worked as an investigative journalist, said it's pure "incompetence" from the Virginia Republican Party that their opposition research did not uncover these controversies.

He added that Republicans must do a better job at selling the message of conservatism to the African-American community.

"What about the movement, conservatism, benefits black folks? And until you sell that message, they're not going to vote for you."
