Tomi Slams CA Gov. Newsom After He Calls Border Crisis 'Manufactured': 'Selectively Ignorant'
In his first State of the State address on Tuesday, Newsom said the Trump White House is “fundamentally at odds” with the values of Californians.
"This 'border emergency' is nothing more than a manufactured crisis, and California will not be part of this political theater," Newsom said.
Just 24 hours before, Newsom announced he would withdraw most of the state's National Guard troops stationed at the U.S.-Mexico border.
On Fox & Friends Wednesday, Tomi, a California resident, said her state's governor is "selectively ignorant" on the immigration issue, particularly when it comes to acknowledging the victims of illegal immigrant crime.
"Gavin calls it a 'manufactured crisis,' but I'd like to hear him say that to the family members, widow and six-month-old son of Cpl. Ronil Singh, murdered by an illegal immigrant shortly after Christmas," she said.
As for Newsom's decision to move National Guard troops from the border to more "appropriate" venues, Tomi questioned what could be more "appropriate" than securing the border.
"For Gavin to say it's not 'appropriate' is so tone deaf it's dangerous. And this is why we can't put leaders like him in power, especially in a border state," Tomi said.
"It makes me infuriated, especially living in California, knowing what he's doing to this great state."
