The campaign promises by a number of 2020 Democratic hopefuls recently had Greg Gutfeld wondering what causes them to make such dreamy vows.

On Saturday night's Greg Gutfeld Show, he presented an "ad" for Demotrex, a faux medication that blocks the brain signals that are responsible for reason.

Demotrex, according to the ad, gives politicians who use it a completely unrealistic world view and results in over-promises they can't deliver on.

"If you take it, people will like you and think you're cool," the ad noted.

Gutfeld cited Democrats like Kamala Harris (Calif.), who has vocalized her support for both "Medicare-for-All" and a "Green New Deal."

"The idea is that everyone gets access to medical care. And you don't have to go through the process of going through an insurance company, having them give you approval, going through the paperwork, all of the delay that may require," Harris recently explain during a town hall event.

Some "delusional" side effects of Demotrex include "letting everyone down."
