Fox Nation Huckabee on Democrats Pushing 'Unrestricted Abortion': 'They're All Trying to Out-Left Each Other'

On Fox Nation's "Liberty File," former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee agreed with President Trump's remark that controversial late-term abortion laws will "lift up the whole pro-life movement" and hurt the Democratic Party at the polls.
Huckabee pointed to a New York bill that was recently signed into law, which allows abortions to be performed by non-doctors up until the point of birth for several reasons, and a similar law proposed in Virginia that was narrowly defeated in the state senate.
Huckabee argued that Democratic politicians are swayed by the core of their party, which is currently "hard-left" in many of their views, including abortion.
"They're all trying to out-left each other," he said. "And part of the Holy Grail for Democrats is unrestricted abortion, because so much money flows to their campaigns from Planned Parenthood and the people who support unrestricted abortions."
He said Democrats may find comfort and support in that pro-choice "bubble," but, just as Trump suggested, extreme policies on abortion could hurt them with the broader American public.
Host Judge Andrew Napolitano noted that even Bill Clinton in 1996 said abortions should be “safe, legal and rare,” which Napolitano said is a "far cry" from where many mainstream Democrats stand in 2019.
Huckabee said it's disingenuous for some Democrats to continue to use similar rhetoric, claiming they do not care if abortions are "rare."
