Huckabee: 'Now We Know' Pelosi Doesn't Care About Furloughed Gov't Workers
Fox News contributor and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said Democrats' rejection of President Trump's compromise solution to reopen the government proves that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is purely playing politics.
With the partial government shutdown approaching the one-month mark, President Trump on Saturday proposed temporarily extending protections for young immigrants brought to the country illegally as children and those fleeing disaster zones in exchange for $5.7 billion for his border wall.
But Democrats rejected the offer, saying it didn’t go nearly far enough.
On Sunday, Trump took to Twitter and thanked federal workers facing another pay period without a paycheck and vowed to be victorious in the battle with Democrats over the border crisis.
To all of the great people who are working so hard for your Country and not getting paid I say, THANK YOU - YOU ARE GREAT PATRIOTS! We must now work together, after decades of abuse, to finally fix the Humanitarian, Criminal & Drug Crisis at our Border. WE WILL WIN BIG!

On Fox & Friends, Huckabee said Trump made an "incredibly generous" offer, but Pelosi has proven that she's not interested in furloughed workers or undocumented immigrants seeking legal protections.
"She's interested in trying to do something to hurt this president and, ultimately, hurt this country," Huckabee said. "And now we know."
He said it's time for Pelosi to quit playing politics and accept the president's "good-faith" compromise.
"If she doesn't take it and if Chuck [Schumer] doesn't take it and if the Democrats don't overrule the two of them and take it, then it is squarely on their shoulders from this day forward."
