"Life, Liberty & Levin" host Mark Levin said on "Hannity" that the Buzzfeed report disputed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller was the latest example of "yellow journalism" by a media outlet trying to take down the president.

Sean Hannity said the documented "pages" of unconfirmed reporting that have been published by various news outlets critical of Trump is "hurting the country."

"It's all intended to drive toward impeachment," Levin responded.

He added that reports like the one in Buzzfeed, which claimed President Trump told Michael Cohen to commit perjury, are "dragging down the Republic by dragging down our president."

"You don't call [Trump] Hitler [or] Stalin," he said. "[You] wait until the next election."

Levin, who worked in the Reagan administration, said the cumulative reporting by left-wing and mainstream media sources is "yellow journalism as low as I've ever seen."

Levin added that it was curious that the statement by Mueller, through spokesman Peter Carr, came as he was hosting his nightly radio program and discussing the special counsel probe.
