'Speaker Pelosi, Tear Down These Walls': Tucker Calls on Pelosi to Remove Barriers Around Her Napa Compound
Tucker Carlson called on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to act on her conclusion that a border wall is "immoral" and consider "tearing down" walls across America that are therefore similarly against morality.
Carlson said Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her party are "no longer telling you that walls are too expensive [or] don't work -- obviously they do."
"The problem they're now telling us is God doesn't like walls," he said, adding that former Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-Texas) said a wall along the Mexico border "will ensure death."
Freshman Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar demanded that President Trump "end his temper tantrums and quest for a racist and sinful big [border] wall."
"I join the similar calls made by my colleagues today, and I demand that the president end his temper tantrums and quest for a racist and sinful big wall,
Carlson said that, for a moment, we should accept Democrats' "immorality" premise:
"There are an awful lot of walls in this country. Now that we know they're an offense against God, how can we let them stand?" he asked.
He called on Pelosi to remove the wall around her estate in Napa Valley, Calif., and for former President Obama to consider removing the manned security barriers and wall around his home in Northwest Washington, D.C.
Carlson said that Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-Texas), who replaced O'Rourke in his El Paso district, said walls like the one between her city and dangerous Ciudad Juarez, Mexico are "monuments to division."
He said that Escobar was right: walls are monuments that divide, but that the division between the two cities has ensured tranquility for El Paso while Juarez remains "one of the most dangerous cities in the world."
"Level them all, Speaker Pelosi, tear down these walls," Carlson said, calling on the San Francisco congresswoman to engineer a "bulldozer of righteousness."
