Lara Trump: Pelosi's Jab About Pres. Trump Working With Women Is 'True Identity Politics'
Trump 2020 campaign adviser Lara Trump said Saturday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's remarks about how the president works with women are "ridiculous."
Pelosi (D-Calif.) said in an interview with NBC that she hopes President Trump "recognizes that a new day has dawned in America."
"I don't know if he knows how to deal with women in power and women with strength," she said. "But we'll see."
Ms. Trump, who spearheaded the Trump-Pence Women’s Empowerment Tour and is married to the president's son Eric, said on "Fox & Friends" that Pelosi's comments represent "true identity politics."
"I think that Nancy Pelosi knows that Donald Trump works very well with women," she said. "He has never cared about your gender or about your color. Donald Trump expects results and he sees success and failures."
She also discussed the crude comments about impeaching the president by freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), who said "we're gonna impeach the motherf----r."
Trump said that Tlaib's comments were representative of a bully.
"[Democrats] have this notion and this dream that there is something out there [to justify impeachment]," she said. "But I think that's what Democrats default to. They can't beat the president because he's doing such a great job. ... They're looking for anything they can to take this president down."
