Campos-Duffy on Murder of Legal Immigrant Police Officer: Killer 'Should Not Have Been in Our Country'
Suspect arrested Friday in murder of Ronil Singh.
Fox News contributor Rachel Campos-Duffy weighed in Friday on the tragic murder of a legal immigrant police officer who was fatally shot in California by a gang-linked illegal immigrant.
The suspect, still not named by authorities, was arrested Friday near Bakersfield in connection with the murder of Newman, Calif., Police Cpl. Ronil Singh.
Singh, 33, was shot and killed early Wednesday when the suspect opened fire during a traffic stop. The husband and father of a five-month-old son had come to the United States legally from Fiji.
Speaking on Fox News Channel, Stanislaus County Sheriff Adam Christianson said Singh was known for his hard work, having worked for multiple departments in the area. He stressed how hard Singh worked to become a police officer and to learn and perfect his English.
"Officer Singh is the shining example of what immigration in America should be. ... Unfortunately, he sacrificed his life trying to protect and defend his community," said Christianson, adding that Singh is the Newman Police Department's first death in the line of duty.
Campos-Duffy said President Trump is right to draw attention to the murder because it should not have happened. She emphasized the "sharp contrast" between Officer Singh and the man who's accused in his murder.
There is right now a full scale manhunt going on in California for an illegal immigrant accused of shooting and killing a police officer during a traffic stop. Time to get tough on Border Security. Build the Wall!

"This is a real husband, father, brother, son who died and should not have died because this man, this murderer should not have been in our country," she said on "Outnumbered Overtime."
She said Singh came here "the right way," was living the American dream, had learned English and was contributing to society.
She said it's "confusing" why Democrats are not interested in finding a solution to border security and stopping the flow of drugs into the country.
The wife of Rep. Sean Duffy (R-Wis.) said there should be a deal on the table that would address DACA recipients, but Nancy Pelosi "is more concerned with consolidating power and becoming Speaker and that means not doing anything that would help Donald Trump with the wall."
