'He Said He Never Kissed Him': Lewandowski Blasts Comey's Claim He's Not Close With Mueller
Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski dismissed a recorded claim by ex-FBI Director Jim Comey that he is not personally close with special counsel Robert Mueller.
According to the transcript of Friday's closed-door testimony, Comey said: "I admire the heck out of the man, but I don’t know his phone number. I’ve never been to his house. I don’t know his children’s names. I think I had a meal once alone with him in a restaurant."
"Jim Comey's at the middle of all this fake Russia probe investigation," Lewandowski said. "He actually went on to say during his testimony he doesn't know Bob Mueller, doesn't have Bob Mueller's phone number, has never been to his house, and has never kissed Bob Mueller is what he said."
Lewandowski ripped the 57-year-old ex-lawman: "I don't know any of that to be true to be honest with you."
Lewandowski also ripped Comey for asserting he is not very familiar with disgraced DOJ counternarcotics official Bruce Ohr.
"He's one of the most senior people at the Department of Justice," he said, adding that Comey served under Attorney General John Ashcroft during the George W. Bush administration and therefore has to know Ohr.
Ohr is accused of questionable contact with British ex-spy Christopher Steele, the author of the anti-Trump dossier. Ohr's wife, Nellie, worked for the opposition-research firm that helped fund it.
