Fox Nation host Tomi Lahren blasted a newly-elected Tennessee state lawmaker after a video surfaced of the Democrat calling her state “racist” and claiming that most of its residents who “voted Republican are uneducated.”

The eyebrow-raising comments from London Lamar, a Democrat who is set to take office in January after running uncontested in the state’s House District 91 in the Memphis area, were made last week in a Facebook Live video posted the morning after the midterm elections.

Lamar's since-deleted comments sparked outrage, and she posted an apology on Facebook for her "overgeneralization of white people."

"This just goes to show that Democrats are unable to compete with Republican ideas, so they must go after Republicans themselves," Lahren said on "Fox & Friends" Wednesday. "This is really no different than Hillary Clinton calling us a 'basket of deplorables.'"

She said she believes that many Democrats are projecting their own feelings when they throw around accusations of racism or sexism about Trump supporters or conservatives.

She added that Lamar's apology does not come off as genuine, noting that the Democrat also said a large number of Tennesseans who voted Republican were responding to President Trump's "racially charged rhetoric."

"They're unable to apologize and truly admit that they just don't like Republican people."
