Kennedy, host of "Kennedy" on Fox Business Network, said President Trump endorsed Rep. Nancy Pelosi for House Speaker because she's the "perfect foil for him."

In a post-midterm election news conference Wednesday, President Trump doubled down on his endorsement for Pelosi (D-Calif.), the presumptive new Speaker after Democrats recaptured the House in Tuesday's midterm elections.

Trump said in a tweet earlier Wednesday that Pelosi “deserves” to be House speaker, and even offered to help provide the votes. Many interpreted that as a tongue-in-cheek comment, but the president said that was not the case.

"A lot of people thought I was being sarcastic or I was kidding. I wasn't," Trump said in the news conference.

On "Outnumbered" Thursday, Kennedy noted that lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have expressed optimism about bipartisan cooperation in a split Congress, but she predicted that won't last long.

"When it goes south -- and it will, and it's going to happen quickly -- she is the perfect person for him to pin all this blame upon," Kennedy said.

Trish Regan, host of "Trish Regan Primetime" on Fox Business Network, said it might be time for Democrats to move on from Pelosi and "reinvent themselves."

"She represents the party of ... [the] global elite. And that was what Hillary Clinton symbolized. And I think Pelosi's so aligned with that," Regan said, suggesting it's time for Pelosi to "go gracefully off into the sunset" and for some "new blood" to take leadership positions in the Democratic Party.
