As a caravan of thousands of migrants heads towards the U.S.-Mexico border, Fox Nation host Tomi Lahren called out Democrats for staying silent and prioritizing illegal immigrants above legal immigrants and American citizens.
"They will ensure that the migrant caravans of today are the voters of tomorrow," Lahren said on "Fox & Friends" Wednesday. "They are absolutely using these people as political weapons, political football in order to get votes."
She said Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) used to support stricter immigration laws similar to those of President Trump, but they have since changed their tune.
"Why do they now place illegal immigrants over legal immigrants and Americans? It's about time they answer for that," Lahren said.
Lahren said the group of migrants headed for the southern border is not a caravan, but an "invasion," and the U.S. has the right to protect its borders and national security.
She argued that's why Trump's long-promised border wall must be the priority, and then lawmakers can look into immigration reform and what to do with the millions of undocumented immigrants already in the U.S.
"Democrats have been effectively able to control this narrative that border enforcement, border security, law enforcement, immigration law is somehow bigoted and intolerant," Lahren said. "The only person who can effectively change that narrative is Donald Trump."
She added that the caravan will actually help Trump and the Republican Party in the midterm elections, predicting that the American people will turn out and vote for border security and enforcement.
