Liberal Radio Host: Migrant Caravan Is Talking Point 'Sent From Heaven' for Trump, GOP
Syndicated radio host Leslie Marshall said Tuesday on "Outnumbered" that the growing migrant caravan inching toward the U.S. is a talking point "sent from heaven" to President Trump and the Republican Party.
At a rally in Texas on Monday, Trump pointed to the caravan as one of the country's major concerns ahead of the midterm elections.
"This will be the election of the caravan, Kavanaugh, law and order, tax cuts and common sense," he told the crowd in Houston.
Marshall said that Trump's rhetoric regarding illegal immigration, the border wall and the caravan could motivate both sides of the aisle to come out to the polls on November 6.
Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich argued that President Trump is right about criminals being embedded within the migrant caravan.
Trump said on Monday doubled down on his contention that terrorists could have infiltrated the caravan, calling it "a horrible thing."
He told a reporter to "go into the middle of the caravan and take your camera and search" for the suspected terrorists, after the reporter challenged the president on the notion.
"We cannot base our immigration policy on emotion," Pavlich said. "This is a national security threat. It is a massive problem that continues to happen year after year."
