Greg Gutfeld said that today's colleges and universities are "basically our own Venezuela" within the United States.

In his monologue on "The Five," Gutfeld said that liberal faculty outnumber conservatives at about a 12-1 advantage.

"North Korea has more diversity," he said.

"The result is a student body going deeper into debt and exposed to one kind of thinking that's making them dumber," Gutfeld said, adding that such a phenomenon prevents students from noticing they're "going broke" at the same time.

He said the typical college campus is like Venezuela because it's a "third-world socialist sinkhole existing within the United States -- immune to market forces and common sense."

"You and your kids are paying for this crap," Gutfeld said to the audience at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
