Lara Trump praised Sen. Susan Collins Monday night for her decision to support Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Collins (R-Maine) was seen as a swing vote in the associate judge's confirmation to the high court after he was accused of sexual assault as a high school student.

She gave a now-viral speech on the Senate floor on Friday about her support for Kavanaugh, and was subsequently criticized for siding with a man who was accused of sexual misconduct.

Trump, the wife of Trump's son, Eric, said on Hannity that Collins "went against the mob" with her vote.

Lara Trump is also a senior adviser to the president's 2020 campaign.

"She went with her gut and her heart ... that is what a real woman is about to me," she said. "This is a very smart woman and this is the definition of feminism in my opinion."

Hannity replied by saying there's a "great hypocrisy" in the attacks toward Collins.

"The very same people that were going after Brett Kavanaugh were silent about Bill Clinton," he said.

Trump agreed, saying that Democrats "know no lows" and that she sees a double-standard.

She said that Democrats will try to "put a complete halt" to the positivity the country has seen under President Trump if they gain control of the House and Senate in November.

"It is a very scary thing," she said. "Everyone out there should understand that if the Democrats get control of the House and Senate, they will try and impeach this president."
