Protesters yelled "shame" at Sen. Joe Manchin as he confirmed his "yes" vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in the Senate Chamber Saturday afternoon.

Manchin (D-W.V.) was seen as one of the possible swing votes on Kavanaugh, but on Friday he came out as the lone Democrat to support President Trump's pick for the high court.

As Manchin -- who is up for re-election in November in a state won by President Trump by more than 40 points -- cast his vote, female protesters in the gallery began yelling.

"Shame! Shame! Shame!" one of them screamed.

Vice President Mike Pence, who was presiding over the vote, called on the sergeant-at-arms to restore order in the gallery, and the women were escorted out.

There was also an outburst as Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), another possible swing vote, confirmed his "yes." vote.

“You’re a coward, Flake. You’re a total coward," a demonstrator yelled from the gallery above.

As he did repeatedly throughout the vote, Pence called on the sergeant-at-arms to restore order.
