Judge Nap: Kavanaugh 'Convincing and Believable,' 'Came Out Swinging'
Judge Andrew Napolitano said Judge Brett Kavanaugh "came out swinging as he needed to" in his opening statement before the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday.
Napolitano called Kavanaugh's fiery opening remarks a "clear and almost ferocious defense of himself."
He said Kavanaugh echoed the tone and tenor of Justice Clarence Thomas, who also called his own hearing "a national disgrace."
"He went through every allegation... and presented a clear and convincing and believable and forceful defense," Napolitano said.
Napolitano said his own tone has changed since first analyzing the state of the hearing.
He said that after hearing from Kavanaugh, it is clear that Republicans are no longer "gloomy" if they were, going into the hearing.
