Greg Gutfeld slammed former President Barack Obama on "The Five" on Monday for taking credit for the current economic surge under President Trump.

Obama suggested in a speech on Friday -- among criticisms of Trump and the GOP -- that Trump's administration was taking credit for what he did.

“When you hear how great the economy’s doing right now, let’s just remember when this recovery started,” Obama said.

Trump in response mocked a comment that Obama made about him in 2016, suggesting Trump would need a “magic wand” to bring back manufacturing jobs.

Gutfeld said on Monday that Trump is like the largest planet in the universe, sucking people in and "making them smaller."

"Right now, Obama is just another asteroid in Trump's galaxy," he said. "It's just another person that is fighting him and it just makes them look smaller."

Obama slammed the GOP during his Friday speech, warning that there are "dire" consequences to staying on the political sidelines.

He added that "powerful and privileged" people want to "keep us angry."

“It did not start with Donald Trump,” the former president said. “He is a symptom, not the cause. He’s just capitalizing on resentments that politicians have been fanning for years.”

Additionally, Trump tweeted on Monday that the economy is "soooo good, perhaps the best in our country’s history."

He said that the economic surge has Democrats "flailing & lying like CRAZY!"
