President Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani said the president is trying to "wake up" Attorney General Jeff Sessions and prompt him to investigate Special Counsel Robert Mueller and former FBI Director James Comey.

Trump once again lashed out at his attorney general, who recused himself from the Russia probe since he served on the Trump campaign.

The former New York City mayor said on "Fox & Friends" that he believes a "big week" is kicking off in the Mueller probe into Russia's interference in the 2016 election. He predicted Mueller's team would respond to Trump's legal team with a decision on the terms for an interview with Trump.

"I think he will give us a decision this week on our counter-proposal. We are coming down to his looking really bad by interfering in the election. I think he has to get it over with by the beginning or early September," he said, calling for the investigation to come to an end soon.

"Absolutely it should be terminated. He should put out his report, tell the American people what he has and they can evaluate it they are entitled to this information before. He shouldn't hold it, try to manipulate the election the way Comey did. I don't think he wants to do that," said Giuliani.

Giuliani said over the weekend that Mueller told him he would release his report on possible obstruction of justice by September 1.

He said Trump is an "honest man" who has done nothing wrong and said Mueller's team "has nothing" on the president. Giuliani said Comey "committed perjury so many times, it's a joke."

"How about we have a Mueller for them?" he asked, calling on Sessions to looking into the "big pile of evidence."
