Hannity Rips Kavanaugh Opponents: 'The Left Wants Judicial Activists' on SCOTUS
In his Opening Monologue, Sean Hannity criticized vocal opponents of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, some of whom began their outcry before his name was even officially released.
Hannity said Kavanaugh's candidacy is one of the "most important decisions" of President Trump's tenure in office.
He said that Kavanaugh is both "intelligent and very sound" and that the jurist agrees that the job of the judiciary is to interpret the Constitution and not create new laws.
"The left want judicial activists," Hannity said, playing video of several of Kavanaugh's detractors.
National Public Radio correspondent Nina Totenberg called the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy "the end of the world as we know it."
Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D) called President Trump a "puppet" of conservative activist groups.
Hannity said the outcry became so virulent that Fox News @ Night anchor Shannon Bream was forced to relocate her planned live show from outside the Supreme Court to the Fox News Washington bureau a few blocks north.
