The panel on The Five reacted to emotionally charged anti-Trump rhetoric from people on the left, including actor Peter Fonda who suggested on Twitter that 12-year-old Barron Trump be caged with pedophiles and that Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen be publicly pilloried.
Fonda, 78, tweeted, "We should rip Barron Trump from his mother's arms and put him in a cage with pedophiles" in order to pressure First Lady Melania Trump to stand up to the president, who he referred to as a "giant [expletive]."
The younger brother of anti-war activist actress Jane Fonda also suggested on Twitter that Nielsen "should be pilloried" in a public square off Vermont Avenue in Washington, "naked and whipped" by passersby.
Donald Trump Jr. later ripped Fonda, calling him a "sick individual" and a "coward." "Why don't you pick on someone a bit bigger, LMK (let me know)," Trump Jr. said.
You’re clearly a sick individual and everyone is an internet badass but rather than attack an 11 year old like a bully and a coward why don’t you pick on someone a bit bigger. LMK. https://t.co/8OhiQ0aZmO

And another... now Fonda is targeting the kids of Law Enforcment. Hey @SonyPictures are you just going to sit back and let this & his child rape fantasies go? Your silence almost reads like you’re ok with it. Please clarify as I’ve heard you have a movie with him dropping soon https://t.co/qgKzFUNijV

Fox News reported that Frank Sinatra's daughter, Nancy, tweeted support for Fonda, telling him to "say how you really feel, blues baby."
"Outrage, minus any solution, creates a bloodthirst targeting Americans trying to solve a problem that the loudest voices never cared about until now," Greg Gutfeld said on The Five.

He said that child migrants also were detained under the Obama administration, but that such acts occurred "back when Peter Fonda and the rest didn't seem to mind."
Jesse Watters remarked that people on the left are the ones "comparing Republicans to Nazis" while at the same time "fantasizing" about heinous crimes.
Kimberly Guilfoyle said she would be outraged if such comments from Fonda were directed at her own 11-year-old son, calling the tweets "[the] really sickening level of depravity on the left."
"What Peter Fonda did was indefensible," she said.
Peter Fonda apology after saying 12-yr-old Barron Trump should be ripped from his mother's arms: "I am very impassioned and distraught over the situation with children separated from their families at the border, but I went way too far. It was wrong and I should not have done it"
