Katie Pavlich slammed the media for wild speculation about Melania Trump's health and whereabouts after the first lady spent several weeks out of the public eye.

The first lady -- who hadn't made a public appearance since undergoing a kidney procedure in May -- attended a scheduled White House event honoring Gold Star families Monday evening.

Several mainstream media outlets had been painting the first lady as “missing in action,” even though several observers pointed out that she was spotted in the West Wing as recently as May 29.

A spokeswoman for Melania Trump on Monday slammed a “rabid press corps” for the speculation about her condition and whereabouts.

On "Outnumbered" on Tuesday, Pavlich noted that a few weeks ago, a CBS Radio reporter asked White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders about unfounded rumors that the first lady does not live in the White House.

"This is disgusting. It's beyond the pale," Pavlich said. "And it's just enraging and infuriating when it comes to the fact that she just had surgery and maybe that's the reason why she hasn't been doing public appearances."

Pavlich said it's "horrifying" for the media to suggest she's "missing in action" or failing to fulfill her duties as first lady.
