A Democratic House candidate is taking heat for comparing President Trump and terrorist leader Usama bin Laden in a new campaign ad.

"After 9/11, the greatest threat to our democracy lived in a cave. Today, he lives in the White House," said Dan Helmer, who is challenging incumbent Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-Va.)

In the video, an image of bin Laden is shown before the camera pans to the White House and Trump.

"No one, not even the president, is above the law," said Helmer, an Army veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The "Outnumbered" hosts weighed in Friday, with Harris Faulkner asking who this type of inflammatory rhetoric would appeal to.

Democrat Marie Harf said the ad is "stupid" and she does not believe it will appeal to Virginia voters, adding Helmer is unlikely to win the Democratic primary.

"It does appeal to the far left. There's people who think the president should go to jail," Melissa Francis.

Dagen McDowell said, like Samantha Bee, it's an example of someone who is "desperate for attention."
