A man who police said was screaming "anti-Trump" sentiments was taken into custody after he opened fire inside the lobby of a hotel at Trump National Doral Golf Club near Miami.

Doral resident Jonathan Oddi reportedly draped an American flag over the lobby desk, pulled a fire alarm and started shooting with a handgun.

He was neutralized by police officers and arrested around 1:30am local time. No guests or hotel workers were injured, though one officer suffered a broken wrist.

"This guy was ready for war, he was waiting for our officers to come in," Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez told Miami radio station 610 WIOD, adding that it appeared that Oddi was looking to "ambush" officers who responded to the scene.

Oddi suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his legs and was transported to a local hospital. Police believe at this point that the gunman acted alone, Phil Keating reported on "America's Newsroom."
