Stormy Daniels' attorney Michael Avenatti has been interviewed 147 times on broadcast and cable news shows in the past ten weeks, according to the Media Research Council.

Avenatti, who is representing adult film star Daniels in her lawsuits against President Trump, was interviewed 74 times by CNN in that time frame.

MSNBC was a close second with 57 Avenatti segments. Rounding out the tally were interviews on ABC (six), CBS (five) and NBC (four), with only one interview on Fox News Channel.

Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer said Avenatti comes across as a political operative, not a lawyer, in these television appearances.

"I don't know what the legal issues are that he's representing, other than he wants to take Donald Trump down," Fleischer said on "Fox & Friends" on Thursday.

He said the bigger issue is that networks like CNN and MSNBC are "oppositional, not factual."

"They're putting him on there as a political advocate, and with the regularity, the frequency ... it's astounding how often they want him."

Despite Avenatti's pervasive presence in the mainstream media, Fleischer said he's just a "sideshow," while Special Counsel Robert Mueller is the "real lawyer" the White House should be concerned about.

"What's happening with Michael Cohen and Michael Avenatti is a sideshow. This is not relevant to the Trump presidency in any serious legal or political way," Fleischer said. "I've never seen somebody who's a sideshow get so much TV."

Last week, Avenatti tweeted bombshell allegations against Trump attorney Michael Cohen, including that he received $500,000 from a Russian oligarch-tied company for insight into the Trump administration.

Cohen is under investigation, in part over a $130,000 payment to Daniels in exchange for her silence about an alleged sexual encounter with Trump a decade ago.
