McCain: Trump 'Emboldened' Assad With Talk of Withdrawing US Troops From Syria

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was taken aback Tuesday when she was asked whether President Trump has considered stepping down.

CNN political analyst April Ryan, who is also a correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks, posed the question at the daily press briefing.

"With all of this turmoil, particularly this last week, has the president, at any time, thought about stepping down before or now?" she asked.

"No, and I think that’s an absolutely ridiculous question," Sanders answered.

"It's not ridiculous,” Ryan responded repeatedly, as Sanders moved on to another questioner.

Ryan asked the question after bringing up Monday's FBI raids on the home, office, and hotel room of Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

Investigators reportedly seized a collection of documents related to a $130,000 hush payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels, who has alleged she had sex with Trump in 2006.

The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that prosecutors from the U.S. Attorneys’ Office in the Southern District of New York requested records of the payment.
