Gov. Cuomo 'Troubled' by NY Sheriff's Decision to Cooperate With ICE Enforcement

A vice president of the Border Patrol Council said he is "very grateful" to President Donald Trump for the White House's focus on the Mexican border.

"We have somebody who's running the country that's putting immigration at the forefront," Art del Cueto said.

Del Cueto said Trump's idea to deploy the National Guard is not unusual, as past presidents have done the same in hopes of assisting the Border Patrol.

He called the plan a way to get an "extra set of eyes" on the border.

Del Cueto added that he wants a secure border for the same reason people lock their doors at home:

"Because we love the people inside, not because we hate the people outside," he said.
