Trump: Democrats 'Fought Every Single Inch of the Way' on DACA

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Friday that "the era of leading from behind is over" following the announcement that John Bolton will be taking over as National Security Adviser.

"[Bolton] has a worldview that I think will help the president make us safer," Graham said on "Fox and Friends," noting that Bolton has long taken a hard line on Iran, North Korea and Russia.

"One of the big losers in this is gonna be Russia," he said.

President Trump announced Thursday that Bolton, a former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and Fox News contributor, will replace Gen. H.R. McMaster effective April 9.

"God bless H.R., but John Bolton's the right guy at the right time with a worldview that I think will reinforce the president's instincts to go after our enemies and to be a better ally," Graham said.

"It's obviously a great honor. It's always an honor to serve our country, and I think particularly in these times internationally," Bolton said Thursday on "The Story."

When asked about the president's signing of a $1.3 trillion spending bill Friday, Graham was supportive of the money allocated to military training and equipment.

"I'm celebrating rebuilding the military," Graham said. "I'm celebrating the pick of John Bolton to help President Trump protect us, to get a better deal with Iran."
