Stirewalt on Tillerson's Ouster: Turns Out Trump Doesn't Like to Say 'You're Fired'
Fox News politics editor Chris Stirewalt alluded to President Donald Trump's famous catchphrase after Rex Tillerson was ousted as secretary of state Tuesday, saying "the guy who said 'You're fired' doesn't like to say 'You're fired.'"
Trump announced on Twitter that he plans to replace Tillerson with CIA Director Mike Pompeo.
Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job! Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen. Congratulations to all!

Stirewalt said on "America's Newsroom" that Tillerson believed he could have waited out Trump's term in office before being fired.
The State Department Tuesday issued a statement saying that Tillerson was unaware of his termination until reports surfaced.
Stirewalt added that there have been numerous policy differences between Tillerson and Trump, but that their "tonal and attitudinal differences" were increasing the divide between them.
"Tillerson is a talk softly, carry a big stick kind of quiet guy who made his career by not talking himself into trouble, whereas the president is all about the sale, all about the talking," he said. "Two very different ways of doing business."
