Marc Thiessen, a former chief speechwriter to President George W. Bush, praised President Trump's accomplishments in his first year in office, but warned that the "chaos" that continues to ensue is hurting his ability to do even more.

Martha MacCallum asked Thiessen and former Clinton aide Philippe Reines about the latest development involving the departure of Communications Director Hope Hicks.

"The accomplishments are there," Thiessen said. "Obviously there's chaos in the White House [though]."

Thiessen asked rhetorically how much more the Trump administration could accomplish without the chaos.

Reines said Trump has gone "0 for 3" in his top campaign promises - ObamaCare repeal, border wall construction and an American exit from NAFTA.

Thiessen said some of the issues the White House has encountered stem from ongoing leaks of secretive or confidential information from meetings and the like.

He remarked that the "only people who haven't leaked [information to the press] from this White House are Barron and Melania."
