Gorka: Rosenstein Statement Shows Mueller Should Wind Down Trump Probe
Former White House adviser Dr. Sebastian Gorka said Robert Mueller should consider closing the Trump-Russia probe after a top official announced there was no sign in last week's indictment that any Americans were trying to meddle in the 2016 election.
Gorka said the announcement from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last week all but rendered moot the initial point of Mueller's special investigation.
"When [Rosenstein] start[ed] with the assertion that nothing happened... why don't you dissolve the office of special counsel," he said.
"Why are we spending millions of dollars?" Gorka said of the probe's budget.
He added that people like liberal filmmaker Michael Moore are "useful idiots," in that Moore showed up at an anti-Trump rally in New York City that recent revelations show was organized by Russian agents.
But, he said that Democrats like Hillary Clinton were "force multipliers for Russian propaganda that attacked a presidential candidate."
Gorka was referencing allegations and revelations surrounding the Trump-Russia dossier,
"They weren't unwitting - they actually paid for it," he said of the unverified document.
