'Joe, There's Gunshots': Student Texts Family of Fox Producer During Shooting
A student at a Florida high school where a mass shooting occurred Wednesday recounted his text messages with a family member of one of Martha MacCallum's producers.
James Harrison, a sophomore at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., texted his stepfather, Joe, to tell him there was someone firing a gun near his classroom.
"Joe there is (sic) gunshots here at my school. I'm super scared. I love you," Harrison wrote. "Don't call me. Joe I'm really scared... I cannot talk."
Harrison told MacCallum that he didn't believe he was hearing a mass shooting going on when the shots first began.
He said he did not know suspect Nikolas Cruz but that friends said Cruz was a quiet boy who did not interact with others.
Harrison said he only came to Stoneman Douglas last year.
