Fleischer: 2020 Dems Will 'Race to Left' Until They 'Fall Off the Face of the Earth'
Ari Fleischer, former President George W. Bush's press secretary, said Democrats will begin a "race to the left" ahead of the 2020 presidential elections "until they fall off the face of the Earth."
Fleischer said that, in the wake of five different opposition responses to President Trump's State of the Union address, it is apparent each top Democrat will try to appear as the most-liberal alternative to the Republicans.
"Every single [2020 Democrat] is going to try to get to the left of one another until they fall off the face of the Earth because the Earth is flat if you're that far left," Fleischer said.
He said there could be anywhere from 15 to 25 Democrats running against Trump in 2020.
Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-Mass) will offer the official Democrat response.
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Virginia State Delegate Elizabeth Guzman (D-Independent Hill), and former Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) will all offer their own responses to Trump.
Bret Baier noted that if Republicans appeared this fractured in response to a Democratic State of the Union address, the left would consider it a Republican "civil war."
