TX Mayor: Dems Who Boycotted Meeting With Trump 'Missed an Opportunity'

Laura Ingraham called out some Democratic lawmakers for their "fanatical" reaction to President Donald Trump's immigration proposal.

Ingraham explained that Trump actually moved toward the middle with his immigration framework, which would offer a path to citizenship for 1.8 million so-called DREAMers, in exchange for funding for a border wall and a crackdown on chain migration and the diversity visa lottery program.

She said Trump's offer of amnesty for DREAMers enraged his base and perhaps hurt his chances at re-election.

Despite that, Democratic lawmakers like House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) have slammed Trump and his immigration proposal.

"These people are total fanatics. They are fanatical for open borders and endless migration of low-skilled labor, purely for political purposes," Ingraham said.

She said Democrats have doubled down on identity politics and anti-Trump rhetoric as their path to election victories in the future.

"These people are dangerous fanatics," Ingraham said. "And it is they -- not President Trump -- who end up destabilizing and destructive forces in the body politic. He's exposed them like no one has before."
