Rev. Graham: Trump 'Defending Christian Faith' More Than Any Recent President
Schumer: 'Next to Impossible' to Negotiate With the WH or 'Hard Right'
In her Opening Statement, Judge Jeanine Pirro blasted top Democrats who she said appear to be forcing a government shutdown over an issue on which they previously aligned with Republicans.
Pirro said there is nothing in the congressional spending bill they should oppose, going by their past statements.
She said the Democrats’ true mission in grinding Congress to a halt is to "step on" the one-year anniversary of the Trump administration and its successes.
"Obstruction is their mission. Pure and simple," she said.

Pirro recalled tape of Hillary Clinton speaking to a crowd in New Hampshire while campaigning for president, telling them she voted "numerous times" to build a border "barrier" while she was New York's junior senator.
Similarly, in a 2009 speech, Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) railed against illegal immigration, demanding that those who enter the country "without our permission" should not "be treated the same as people who entered the U.S. legally."
However, his current Twitter profile image is a caption reading "I stand with DREAMers."

Republicans have similarly latched onto the Brooklynite's current opposition to Republican-led plans to end the DACA program and secure the border, nicknaming the government work stoppage the "Schumer Shutdown."

Pirro added that President Barack Obama also previously warned against a porous southern border, saying while serving as Illinois senator in 2006 that "we live in the age of terrorists."

Pirro added that President Barack Obama also previously warned against a porous southern border, saying while serving as Illinois senator in 2006 that "we live in the age of terrorists."
"We cannot allow people to pour into the U.S. undetected, undocumented, and unchecked," Obama said at the time, adding that businesses who employ illegal immigrants "disrespect the rule of law."
Pirro criticized the changes in tone, saying the Democrats’ mission in facilitating a shutdown is to cast a pall over Trump's first year.

"Come on, the Democrats are gaming us," she said.
