Steyn: 'Highly Ideological' Twitter and Facebook Have Become an Internet 'Duopoly'
Tucker Carlson and author Mark Steyn discussed the corporate and political power Facebook and Google have over the internet.
Carlson said that the two companies "suck up to a repressive and authoritarian government [like China] and squelch speech" for its profit margin.
He and Steyn said China is the last frontier for internet companies.
Steyn said the internet has "dwindled down to a duopoly" and that both companies' left-leaning political ideology is something to be concerned about.
He said the companies' "highly ideological and politicized" staffers are reveling in the power they have to "take down" ideological opponents.
Carlson said such a phenomenon even presents a threat to the federal government.
Steyn said Facebook and Google are "incentivized by craven politicians" and that only the enforcement of antitrust laws can stop them.
