Greg Gutfeld said Saturday on "The Greg Gutfeld Show" that an accelerated domestic robot development program could help America in future international conflicts.

He discussed with Pete Hegseth the future of artificial intelligence and the possibility of using robots in wartime.

Gutfeld said that, because technology is evolving, sufficient robotics and drone technology may make physical requirements for soldiers "way more lax and less important."

Hegseth, an Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran, considered the theory.

"You don't have to look like Pete Hegseth if you're in a secluded military installation in Montana, pushing buttons and directing drones and killer robots," Gutfeld said.

He told Hegseth that America could one day "win the universe" if it wins the race to develop advanced drones, artificial intelligence and robots.
