Former FBI Asst Director: 'Nothing About Clinton Investigation Was Right'

Fitton: Trump-Russia, Clinton Email Investigations 'Irredeemably Compromised'

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said the Justice Department must undertake an actual investigation of the Clinton Foundation involving subpoenas and grand juries.

He said the prior FBI investigation under James Comey was a "sham" which was only "designed to mollify critics" like President Trump and Judicial Watch.

The Justice Department has launched a new investigation into allegations the Clinton Foundation used "pay to play" politics while Hillary Clinton was U.S. secretary of state, Fox News reported Thursday.

A source familiar with the investigation said the investigation is being led by the U.S. Attorney’s office and the FBI in Little Rock, Ark.

Fox News also has learned investigators are looking into whether the Clinton Foundation violated tax law. Accusers of "pay to play" have claimed the foundation promised favors in exchange for donations or pledges of cash or gifts.

Fitton said Special Counsel Robert Mueller is pursuing a serious criminal investigation, unlike the probes into the Clinton Foundation and Hillary Clinton's email server.

"We know what a serious investigation looks like. We see that with [Mueller]. We didn't see any of that last year," he said, accusing FBI and DOJ leadership of "suppressing" investigators' efforts.
