VA GOP Rep: Gillespie Loss 'Referendum on Trump Administration, Divisive Rhetoric'

A top California Democrat posted a Twitterstorm of criticisms he said were to recognize the one year since President Trump - who he called "the worst president in modern history" - was elected.

Rep. Adam Schiff of Burbank, who is the top Democrat on the committee tasked with investigating possible collusion between Trump and Russian actors, slammed the president online.

"One year ago, @realDonaldTrump was elected President. Since then, he has repeatedly shown why he is the worst president in modern history," Schiff tweeted.

He then began a series of at least a dozen criticisms, highlighting actions taken by Trump since November 8, 2016.

"Almost immediately after the election, the President-elect falsely claimed to have won the popular vote and said that millions of illegal immigrants voted," Schiff said.

He also ripped Trump over his executive order to curb immigration from targeted countries, which Schiff called the "Muslim ban."

Schiff said Trump acted irresponsibly by sunsetting the DACA program and withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accords.

He also accused Trump of "cozying up to dictators" and threatening to engage in military conflict through his continual tweeting.

"There is absolutely no doubt: President Trump is the worst president in modern history. And each day, he works on eliminating "modern" from that description," Schiff said.

Previously, Trump ripped the Congressman as "Sleazy Adam Schiff," and said Schiff spent too much time on television venting about him.
